A tasty take on the classic Beanie Weenies recipe made in an Instant Pot that's quick and filling.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb dried navy beans, rinsed and sorted
- 4 cups water
- 1 lb franks or hot dogs, sliced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
Place dried navy beans and water in the Instant Pot
Close and lock the lid, set the vent to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 25 minutes
Allow natural pressure release for 10 minutes, then manually release the remaining pressure
Drain excess liquid from the beans, leaving about 1 cup in the pot
Add sliced franks, chopped onion, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt to the pot with beans
Stir well to combine all ingredients
Close and lock the lid, set the vent to sealing, and cook on high pressure for an additional 5 minutes
Manually release pressure and stir the Beanie Weenies before serving
Serve hot and enjoy!
